MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – Post University defeated the Bentley women's tennis team 7-0 on Thursday in the season opener for the Falcons.

In doubles, Maria Mella and Adriana Hiraldo took the top spot for the Falcons and they gave their opponents Megan Lombardt and Micaela Rosignuolo everything they could handle but fell 6-4.

Remi LeSage and Anna Lang battled in the No. 2 match and newcomer Catalina Borrero teamed with Libby Keefe in No. 3.

In the No. 1 singles match, Mella went to-to-toe with Post's Annunciata De-Souza but fell just short 6-4, 6-4.

LeSage was in the No. 2 match against Rosignuolo (6-3, 6-2) and Hiraldo battled with Nina Langenfeld in No. 3 (6-4, 6-2).

The No. 5 match saw Lang take on Natalia Gonzalez (6-1, 6-2), in No. 6 Keefe took on Julia D'Occhio (6-0, 6-0).

Bentley's next match is scheduled for Saturday against Assumption, weather permitting.
