PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Bentley's run in the NCAA Championship came to a close in the final of the East Region 1 on Sunday with a 2-0 defeat to Pace.
The Falcons came into Sunday's game with a 2-1 record in the regional after they swept D'Youville and St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday. Bentley needed a win over Pace on Sunday morning to force a decisive second game against the Setters later in the day.
Pace's starting pitcher Gisselle Garcia went the distance and limited the Falcons to three hits.

Riley Piromalli went 4.1 innings after starting against D'Youville and earning the save against St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday.
Pace scored once each in the third inning and the fifth inning, both from RBI hits from Riley Jenkins.
Bentley's season comes to a close at 26-21.
