Reagan, Walant Record Wins During Tufts Spring Invitational

MEDFORD, Mass. -- Seniors Sean Reagan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus HS) and Tim Walant (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North HS) each turned in winning performances while competing for the Bentley University men's outdoor track team in less than ideal weather conditions at the Tufts University Spring Invitational.

Reagan ran to victory in the 3,000 meters, posting a time of 9:22.54, and Walant was first to the finish line in both the 110 meter high hurdles (16.65 seconds) and the 400 hurdles (1:00.67). In the latter event, Walant was followed by sophomore teammate Grant Nolan (Concord, N.H./Concord HS), who finished in 1:01.56.

In the 800 meters, junior Dan Fava (Malden/Malden Catholic HS) posted Bentley's fastest time of the year, finishing second in 1:56.48. He trailed Paul DeSalvo, running unattached, by 0.71 seconds. Senior Dan O'Connell (Medfield/Medfield HS) placed fourth in 2:00.92.

Third-place finishes were recorded by freshman Eric Kennedy (West Hartford, Conn./Northwest Catholic HS) in the 100 meters (11.81), sophomore Craig Robinson (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough HS) in the 1500 (4:10.26) and junior Steven Long (Allston/Newton North HS) in the shot put (39 feet, 8.5 inches).

There was no scoring in the multi-team meet that included Tufts, Merrimack, UMass-Lowell and numerous club teams.
