Connolly Leads Bentley Men during Northeast-10 Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – During Saturday's Northeast-10 Conference Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center, senior Christian Connolly (Kingston/Silver Lake Regional HS) placed sixth in the 800 meters, the highest finish for a member of the Bentley University men's indoor track and field team. His time was 1:58.10.

Connolly also helped the Falcons take fifth in the distance medley with the time of 10:18.88 fifth best in program history. That relay also included junior David Cooper (Woburn/Woburn HS) and sophomores Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) and David Stoffel (Luxembourg).

Cooper also finished seventh in the mile with his 4:24.17 improving on his personal best by 0.66 seconds. Also placing seventh for Bentley was freshman Nick Skarin (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee HS) in the 500 meters (1:07.54).

In the 4x800, Skarin helped the Falcons place eighth, combining with junior Anthony Lacey (Ogdensburg, N.J./Pope John XXIII HS), sophomore Greg Karpacz (Wayland/Wayland HS) and freshman Graham Chapski (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich HS) for a time of 8:18.02.

Finishing just out of the top eight were sophomore Cullen McHale (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS) and freshman Beau Kraft (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point HS). McHale was ninth in the 5,000 (15:32.23) and Kraft was ninth in the shot, with his throw of 43'8.5" a PR by more than a foot and the ninth best in program history.

Tenth-place finishes for the Falcons were recorded by junior Connor Hichens (Sharon/Sharon HS) in the triple jump (42'7.5") and Haas in the 1,000, with his 2:33.77 bettering his PR by 1.25 seconds.

Another PR was achieved by freshman Ryan Cadorette (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy), who was 11th in the 3,000 (8:54.54).

Bentley finished 10th of 11 in the team standings with 12 points. American International claimed the championship with 149.5 points, 9.5 more than runner-up Southern Connecticut.

Next weekend, Bentley will be at Boston University for the New England Championships.
