On this day back in 2012, the Bentley men's lacrosse team took on Merrimack at Gillette Stadium. The Falcons, who came into the game with a 3-3 record in the Northeast-10, led late in the 4th quarter 11-10.
Merrimack held a 10-8 lead at the start of the 4th quarter, and after three-plus minutes, Bentley erased that lead with two quick goals just 29 seconds apart. Nick Astarita scored at the 11:32 mark, followed by Brendan Grant scoring to tie the game 10-10.
Just under six minutes of play elapsed before the next goal, but it was Bentley that scored it as Grant netted his 3rd of the afternoon at the 5:47 mark to give Bentley an 11-10 lead. Merrimack though tied the game with a goal by Mike Perdie at the 4:33 mark, then got the winning goal from Greg Melaugh with just 14 seconds remaining.
