BELLINGHAM, Mass. – Led by senior Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS), the Bentley University golf team posted victories over a pair of Northeast-10 Conference opponents, Le Moyne College and Assumption University, Friday afternoon at the New England Country Club.
On a very tight and demanding course, Bentley turned in a winning score of 298. Le Moyne followed at 305 and Assumption was a stroke back of the Dolphins.
Four golfers, including Ethier, shared medalist honors with a one-over 72. The others were Assumption's Sean Magarian and a pair of Le Moyne golfers, Ryan Johnson and Tyler Birdd.
Bentley junior Ryan Daly (Beverly/Beverly HS) was alone in fifth place after turning in a 74. Classmate Matt Mackin (Westwood/Westwood HS) tied for sixth place in a field of 21 with a 76, despite a triple-bogey on the 15th hole.
Falcon captain Ellis Yoder (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead HS), a graduate student, was impressive for the first 17 holes before settling for a 77 after carding a ninth on the final hole.
Bentley is scheduled to be back on the same course next Friday afternoon to take on Assumption.
