Ethier, Bentley Do It Again as Falcons Take Their Own Spring Invitational

EAST SANDWICH, Mass. – Bentley University senior co-captain Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) finished atop the leaderboard for the third straight event while helping the Falcons finish first among eight teams in the Bentley Spring Invitational at the Sandwich Hollows Golf Course Tuesday.

Bentley finished 13 strokes in front of runner-up Franklin Pierce University with a team score of 303-302-605. The Ravens turned in a 618 and Southern New Hampshire followed in third with a 621.

Ethier, with a 36-hole score of 145, edged Le Moyne's Nicholas Bove and Southern New Hampshire's by a single shot, 145-146. The Falcon standout, who had previously tied for first in a triangular and captured the top spot in a dual with Assumption, fired a two-under 69 in the opening round and carded a second-round 76. Bove trailed by six strokes after 18 and made up all but one of the difference. Conti posted a 72-74 for his 146.

Bentley's number two man was junior Matt Mackin (Westwood/Westwood HS), who registered back-to-back 75's for a 150. Also cracking the top ten was graduate student Ellis Yoder (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead HS) with a 76-77-153.

Bentley's next competition is the Saint Anselm Invitational Friday at the Oaks Country Club in Somersworth, N.H.
