WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley volleyball head coach
Joey Pacis collected his 300
th career victory during Bentley's tri-match triumphs in the Dana Center Saturday. The Falcons swept Wilmington (Del.) for Pacis' milestone victory, and then Bentley swept Southern New Hampshire in non-conference action.
Following the two wins, Pacis is up to 301 career victories between his tenures at Merrimack and Bentley. His Bentley record is 184-104.
Bentley attacked at a .340 mark during the 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-16) win over Wilmington (Del.).
Rachel Vitko finished with a match-high nine kills, and
Elizabeth Blinn added eight.
Elliet Manning (19) and
Lauren Hallas (18) were nearly even for the team lead in assists.
Blinn and
Caitlin Wunder both came away with four blocks.
The Falcons didn't slow down in their second match of the day, beating SNHU in three sets (25-13, 25-11, 25-18). Bentley hit .404 in the win – its second best mark of the season.
Sophia Poehlein finished with a match-high 13 kills, and
Hannah Rounds closely followed with 12. Poehlein added 10 digs for her second double-double of the season. Eriza Borzone totaled a season-high 17 digs in the winning effort.
Tory Vitko amassed 38 assists, making it her fourth consecutive match with 30+ assists.
Bentley returns to conference action at American International Tuesday, Oct. 29.
