CONCORD, N.H. – Senior
Evan Desjardins (Salem, N.H./Salem HS) and junior
Robbie Sluga (Stamford, Conn./St. Joseph HS) were the top performers for the Bentley University men's golf team during Southern New Hampshire's Granite State Opener, which concluded Tuesday at the Beaver Meadows Golf Club.
Desjardins was Bentley's top finisher in the 54-hole event as he tied for 19
th in a field of 75 with a 71-72-77-220. That was good for four-over-par.
Sluga closed out the tournament Tuesday with his second straight one-over par 73. His 231 total put him in a tie for 49
th overall. The third round for senior
Chris Huban (Cohoes, N.Y./Albany Academy), a two-over 74, was his best of the tournament and he tied for 41
st with a 228.
As a team, Bentley finished with a third-round 299, its best of the tournament. The Falcons were 12
th of 14 overall with a 904.
SNHU won its own tournament by three strokes over Merrimack, 863-866. Co-medalists were SNHU's Andrew Suprenant and Merrimack's Nerraj Shetty, both of whom finished at 11-under.
Bentley will be back in the Granite State next Monday and Tuesday for the SNHU Penmen Invitational.
