WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior midfielder
David Gagnon scored a career-high seven goals as #10 ranked Bentley defeated Bridgeport 16-4 in its home opener.
Leading 4-3 after the first quarter Bentley outscored the Purple Knights 12-1 over the final 45 minutes. They held Bridgeport to without a goal for nearly 40 minutes of game time and scored 10 unanswered during that stretch.
Gagnon had four of his goals in the first half.
Hunter Smith and
Will Adams each scored twice for the Falcons.
Senior
Jack Flynn had a game-high three caused turnovers.
Kyle Piersiak and
Dalton MacKinnon led the way with five ground balls each and
Alex Parton notched four ground balls to go along with two caused TOs.
MacKinnon went 12-17 in the faceoff circle.
Jackson Tinsley made seven saves to earn the win.
Bentley, now 2-0 on the season, visits #8 Saint Anselm on Saturday for a non-conference game.
