COLCHESTER, Vermont – Riley Piromalli pitched a two-hit, complete game shutout to lead the Bentley softball team to 3-0 win at Saint Michael's Saturday afternoon. The Falcons lost the second game of the doubleheader, 8-4.

Piromalli notched her 14
th complete game of the season, yielding just two hits and three walks for the shutout victory. She didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning, when there were two outs on the board. Piromalli allowed another single in the fifth inning, and those were the only instances the Purple Knights could touch the Bentley ace.
Bentley scored the game's first run in the fifth inning.
Bella Burke hit a one-out single, and she moved to third when
Jess Morrison smacked a double. Burke then came in to score when
Carly DiMento hit a ground ball to short.
The Falcons added two more runs in the seventh inning.
Becca Harris led off with a double, and she moved up a base when
Grace Messina hit a single. On a stolen base attempt at second, the catcher made an errant throw and Harris came in to score an insurance run. On the very next play, Burke hit an RBI single.
Burke finished the game 3-for-3 at the plate, while Morrison, Harris, and Messina each finished with two hits.
Bentley 4, St. Michael's 8 (5 inn.)
Three Falcons put forth multi-hit efforts, but Bentley couldn't overcome an early 7-0 deficit in the second game. Morrison, Harris, and
Ava Lanza each came away with two hits in the game.
St. Michael's had a seven-run lead through two innings, but Bentley got on the board in the third. Burke reached base on an error, Harris singled, and
Maddie Baker reached on another error to load the bases.
Saunders grounded out to score Burke, and a third error allowed Harris to touch home to make it a 7-2 game.
Bentley doubled its run total with two more in the fourth inning. Lanza led off with a single and scored on a double hit by Morrison. Later in the inning, Harris hit an RBI double.
Bentley next travels to Southern Connecticut for a doubleheader Monday, April 21.
