NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Riley Piromalli and
Maddie Pickett both earned complete-game victories, and
Jordan Krause belted her sixth home run of the season to lead the Bentley softball team to doubleheader wins at Southern Connecticut Monday afternoon.

Bentley 2, SCSU 1
Piromalli allowed just one unearned run on six hits for her 15
th complete game – and 10
th win – of the season. She lowered her season ERA to 2.54. During one stretch of the game, Piromalli retired 10 of 11 batters.
The Owls scored their unearned run in the third inning, and they held the lead through five frames. Bentley finally broke through in the sixth inning.
Hailey Feiler led off with a single, and pinch runner
Michelle Diaz came in to score when
Carly DiMento doubled down the left field line.
Krause broke the 1-1 tie in the seventh inning, crushing a one-out solo homer to left-centerfield.
Feiler, DiMento, and
Jess Morrison finished the game with two hits, each.

Bentley 2, SCSU 1
Pickett tossed the fourth complete game of her freshman season, yielding just one earned run on four hits. She finished the game by retiring eight consecutive batters. Pickett improved her record this season to 6-4.
Bentley scored both of its runs in the second inning.
Maddie Baker led off with a single, and she ended up on third base following a
Becca Harris double.
Kim Saunders promptly followed with a single up the middle, scoring both runners for a 2-0 Bentley lead.
SCSU scored its lone run in the fourth inning.
Saunders finished the game 3-for-3 at the plate, marking her first three-hit game of the season.
Bentley returns home for a non-conference doubleheader against Post Wednesday, April 23, starting at 2:30 p.m.
