PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Tasked with starting Northeast-10 Championship weekend against the No. 15 team in the country, the Bentley softball team was not able to advance to Friday's games. The Falcons lost to the host, No. 15 Pace, 6-0 in the opening game Thursday. Bentley then fell to Assumption, 6-3, in a win-or-go-home matchup.
Bentley's first runs of the day came in the sixth inning against Assumption.
Maddie Baker led off with a single, and
Ella Bunovsky came in to pinch run. Two batters later,
Becca Harris hit a double to put runners on second and third.
Hailey Feiler then drew a walk to load the bases.
Assumption committed a fielding error off the bat of
Michelle Diaz, which allowed Bunovsky to score.
Jess Morrison was next up, and she delivered a two-run single to right field.
Morrison finished the Assumption game 2-for-4, and Baker went 2-for-4 in that game, as well.
