KEENE, N.H. – Bentley women's golf won its second straight tournament to begin the season at the Franklin Pierce One Day Invitational, played at Keene Country Club. Freshman
Isabel Gonzalez Villarreal finished first overall as an individual.
The Falcons won by eight shots over Assumption to top the field, which also included Saint Anselm and Franklin Pierce. In its second season of competition, the team previously won the Hartford Invitational on Sept. 7 for its first ever victory.
Gonzalez Villarreal shot a five-over 77 to win by two shots over Assumption's Samantha Tinsley.
Gaby Becker and
Tanya Chowdary were tied for sixth and
Mari Frigo was ninth.
Ana Gil and Alex Kwon also placed in the top-15.
Bentley will next compete on Sunday at the University of Southern Maine Invitational, which is played at Riverside Golf Club in Portland.
