MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Bentley men's golf team made significant improvements in the second round of the Penman Spring Invitational, as the Falcons ultimately finished fourth in the tournament hosted by Southern N.H. at Derryfield Country Club.Â
Scores
The Falcons improved by 12 strokes between the first and second round, finishing with a score of 298-286-584. Bentley finished just eight strokes off from the lead.
Jack Kantowski placed fourth overall, shooting 69-73-142. He made four birdies overall for the tournament.
Braden Yeomans flourished in the second round, improving his score by eight strokes. He finished the tournament shooting 77-69-146. Yeomans made one birdie in the first round, and three in the second round. Yeomans moved up 21 spots in the standings from the first round.
In the second round
CJ Steel took five strokes off his first-round score, finishing the tournament 76-71-147. He tied for 15
th overall, moving up 10 spots from the first round. Steel made three birdies in the second round, after making none in the first.
As an individual,
Timmy Adams finished tied for eighth with a score of 71-74-145. He sank three birdies in each round.
"The team has proven it can deliver at a high level," said Bentley head coach
Iain Highfield. "Now we need to do this over two days. We don't want to be known as just a 'second round team'."
