Falcons jump four spots in standings to finish second in Penmen Season Finale

CONCORD, N.H. – Another outstanding second-round effort propelled the Bentley men's golf team to a second-place finish in the Penmen Season Finale at the Beaver Meadow Golf Course.

Scores

Bentley scored 290-280-570 overall. The 10-stroke improvement in the second round allowed the Falcons to vault from sixth to second in the standings. Adelphi (275-273-548) won the event.

Bentley head coach Iain Highfield credits the team for not overreacting to its first-round standing. "Our focus remained simple: trust the process," he said. "After reviewing stats and discussing strategy, the group made a collective decision to not overhaul anything. The guys stayed patient and executed the same game plan."

John Noonan set the pace for the Falcons by tying for fourth overall. He shot 71-69-140 for the tournament. Noonan sunk four birdies in the first round. His second round included an eagle on the second hole (par 5).

Timmy Adams finished just two strokes behind Noonan, shooting 70-72-142 through the two rounds. He tied for seventh overall. Adams scored an eagle on the 10th hole (par 5) in the first round, and he totaled seven birdies in the tournament.

Braden Yeomans finished two strokes behind Adams by shooting 76-68-144. He made four birdies in each round, and Yeoman's leap in the second round was made possible by limiting himself to shooting over par just once.
