WALTHAM, Mass. – Pat Heber became Bentley's all-time strikeout king, and
Zach Eigenbrod tried to upstage his teammate with a 15-strikeout performance as the baseball team won both ends of a doubleheader against Southern Connecticut Friday afternoon.

Making his 40
th career start on the mound,
Pat Heber entered Friday's doubleheader tied with Rob Finneran '12 for the most strikeouts in school history (229). Heber's record-breaking strikeout was the third batter of the game, when the Owls' Devin Pelletier went down swinging.
In addition to setting a program, Heber set a personal record by striking out a career-high 11 batters in his six-inning outing.
The Bentley bats pushed at least 20 runs across the plate for the third time this season.
Earlier this week,
Jake Maydak hit his first-career home run against Assumption (March 31). In the very next game, Maydak hit a two-run homer that gave the Falcons a 3-0 lead in the second inning against Southern Conn.
Stan DeMartinis III belted his 14
th home run of the season – a solo shot in the eighth inning that increased Bentley's lead to 18-2. He had his first four-hit game of the season by going 4-for-5 with four RBI and three runs scored.
Maydak finished the game 2-for-5 with four RBI, while
Jimmy Mitchell matched Maydak's RBI total and collected two hits in three at-bats.
Despite combining for one hit in seven at-bats,
Tommy Bolton and
Jared Berardino still managed to combine for seven runs scored.

Zach Eigenbrod struck out a career-high 15 batters in his first-career complete game Friday. He allowed only three hits, and in one stretch he retired 10 consecutive batters.
Bentley erupted for nine runs in the fifth inning, which included three home runs.
Stan DeMartinis III crushed a two-run shot for conference-leading 15
th home run of the season.
Jared Berardino hit two – yes, two – home runs in the fifth inning. The first homer was a solo job, and the second was a grand slam. Berardino is up to 11 home runs this season. He and DeMartinis are the only NE10 players with double-digit home runs this season.
DeMartinis is currently tied for the third-most home runs in a season in Bentley history. He is four homers away from matching head coach
Mike Hill's school record.
