Senior defensive back who is majoring in economics-finance … shifted to defense after beginning his career at wide receiver ... in 19 games before this season, had one reception (13 yards) and 11 tackles ... only player from Illinois on this year’s team.

2018: was in on seven tackles while playing in all ten games ... three of his tackles came on kick return coverage ... two tackles against both Merrimack Sept. 15 and LIU Post Sept. 22.

2017: Appeared in nine games … caught a 13-yard pass against Saint Anselm Sept. 8 for his first career reception.

2016: Did not see any game action as a freshman.

Before Bentley: 2016 graduate of Benet Academy … football team captain who earned All-Conference and All-Area recognition … led Redwings in receiving … team lost in second round of Class 7A playoffs.

Personal: Age as of Sept. 1: 22 … son of Clarice and Andy Schmidt … has one sister, Christie (28), and two brothers, Phil (27) and Justin (26) … Phil played football at Dartmouth ... cousin Jolie is a freshman on the Bentley volleyball team.
