Biography

Third year captain … graduate student who is working on an MBA with a dual focus in Accountancy and Financial Planning … graduated with a BS degree in accounting… entering his third year as the starting quarterback and a team captain … first player in Bentley history to be a three-year captain … his leadership and performance level inspire this teammates … tough player and outstanding leader … expected to have an outstanding final season … on Bentley’s career lists, ranks fourth in total offense (5.446), fourth in completions (455), fifth in passing yards (5,055) and sixth in TD passes (40) … has been Bentley’s starting QB in every game of Thom Boerman era … three varsity letters.

2010:  Named Northeast-10 Conference MVP, Bentley’s Offensive MVP and first team All-Conference after a season that saw him account for 23 touchdowns and shatter the school record for completion percentage (a conference-best .659) … fifth in NE-10 in passing yards per game (240.1) and second in total offense (264.0 yards per game) … third in touchdown passes (18), which is eighth most in program history, and added a team-best five rushing touchdowns … was also number three in NE-10 in passing efficiency (140.00) … 2,161 passing yards ranked ninth in program’s history … completed the sixth most passes in school history (191) … awarded the Gold Helmet by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston after passing for season-high 347 yards and four touchdowns against Carson-Newman Sept. 2 … threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 57 yards and a score against New Haven Sept. 24 … went 17-22 for 220 yards, and passed for two TDs and scored a  rushing touchdown against Merrimack Oct. 8 … sealed Bentley’s 36-26 win at Southern Connecticut Oct. 16 with a rushing touchdown with 2:13 to play … threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns in that game and was named Northeast-10 Player of the Week two days later… had a highly efficient day at Assumption Oct. 29, going 18-23 for 264 yards, including an 89 yard touchdown pass to Wade Critides, the longest completion in Bentley’s varsity history … added 70 yards on the ground and a rushing TD in that game … threw the go-ahead touchdown to Tim Moscato against Stonehill with 3:57 left in third quarter, breaking 17-17 tie … repeat selection on Northeast-10 All-Academic team.

2009: named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic team … selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 1 team … completed 220 of 337 passes (58.4 percent) for 2,436 yards and 19 touchdowns … also gained 200 yards on the ground …fourth most completions, sixth most passing yards and tied for sixth most touchdowns in single-season program history … third in NE-10 in average passing yards per game at 243.6 … fourth in NE-10 in total offense per game, averaging 263.6 yards per contest … 2,636 yards of total offense was fourth-highest single-season mark in program history … quarterback rating for the season was 122.4 … awarded the Gold Helmet on Sept. 2 by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston after leading Bentley to 14-13 come-from-behind win at Ohio Dominican … 351 yards and four touchdowns against Curry Sept. 4 were career-bests … threw for 325 yards and two TDs at Merrimack Oct. 3 … five touchdowns and 338 yards passing at Pace Oct. 17 … had 295 passing yards and three touchdowns at Stonehill Nov. 7 … two touchdown passes each in wins over Ohio Dominican, Saint Anselm, New Haven, AIC and Southern Connecticut State.

2008: played in eight games and started at Southern Connecticut Oct. 10 … completed 44 passes for 458 yards and threw three touchdowns … against Southern Connecticut, went 18-36 for 204 yards and two touchdowns … saw extended action in win over Assumption Oct. 3, completing 17 of 30 passes for 187 yards and one touchdown … named to Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll Oct. 6.

2007: did not see any game action as a freshman.

Personal: 2007 graduate of Milford High School, where he was a three-sport captain (football, basketball, baseball) … was the Central Mass. 1A league MVP in football twice (2005, 2006) and in baseball once (2007) … selected to the Gridiron Club of Boston All-State team … led Central Mass. in passing yards while helping Milford to the Central Mass 1A Super Bowl championship … as a senior, completed 62 percent of his passes for 1,868 yards, 17 touchdowns and only four interceptions (166.00 passing efficiency) … two-time Worcester Telegram & Gazette All-Star in both football and baseball … National Honor Society … age as of Sept. 1: 22 … son of Paul and Cheryl Johnson … has one sister, Caitlin (26).
