2012: Appeared in three games as a freshman … credited with a tackle against both Pace on Aug. 31 and New Haven Oct. 13.

Personal: 2011 graduate of Bonny Eagle High School who prepped at Bridgton Academy … named to the Maine Sunday Telegram’s 2010 All-State team at defensive end … chosen to the All-SMAA team in 2009 at DE and TE and in 2010 at DE …helped Bonny Eagle to state championship in 2007 and 2008 … co-captain as a senior … played in the 2011 Lobster Bowl all-star game … named to SMAA All-Academic team as a senior … SMAA Citizenship Award as a senior … two-time National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame State of Maine Chapter Scholar-Athlete award in 2011 and 2012 … earned three varsity letters in basketball as well as four in football … age as of Sept. 1: 22 … son of Dennis and Melody Amell … sister, Theresa (35) and brother, Evan (21) … is a cousin of former MLB pitcher Bill Swift.
