Biography

Senior safety who is majoring in economics-finance … good student … played in 32 of 33 games over his first three seasons, totaling 123 tackles, 14 interceptions and 128 punt return yards … his 14 career INTs is tied for fourth most in program history and was the most nationally by any 2015 Division II junior.

2015: Earned Academic All-Northeast-10 and second-team All-Conference honors following a season in which he made 42 tackles, picked off five passes and recovered two fumbles … was tied for second in the NE-10, as well as 22nd in Division II, in interceptions per game (0.45) … had two picks against Saint Anselm Oct. 10 and one vs. New Haven Sept. 11, vs. AIC Oct. 17 and vs. LIU Post Nov. 7 … all five came at home … recovered fumbles at Stonehill Oct. 24 and at Assumption Oct. 30 … fifth on team in tackles … season-high seven tackles against New Haven Sept. 11 … Bentley’s top punt returner with 13 for 99 yards (7.6 average) … selected for CoSIDA Academic All-District team … NE-10 Defensive Player of the Week Oct. 12.
 
2014: Was one of five Falcons to make at least 50 tackles, finishing with 59 in ten games … that was second most among Bentley’s secondary players … started nine times … double-figure tackles twice with 11 at Saint Anselm Sept. 20 and 10 against Merrimack Oct. 11 … tied for fourth in the Northeast-10 in interceptions (4) … 103 yards on interception returns was third most in the conference … had a 71-yard INT return in the Merrimack game … also picked off passes Sept. 6 vs. Mercyhurst, Oct. 18 at Southern Connecticut and Nov. 15 in the second Merrimack game.

2013: Played in every game as a freshman and started the final four at free safety … named to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team … was second in the NE-10 in interceptions per game, making a total of five … his average of 0.45 also ranked 13th in Super Region 1 and 24th nationally … two of those picks came Nov. 2 against Southern Connecticut State, a performance that earned him Defensive Player of the Week accolades in the NE-10 … finished with 22 tackles and averaged 4.3 a game as a starter … had five tackles in the two home games he started, Nov. 2 vs. Southern Connecticut and two weeks later against Saint Anselm.
  
Personal: 2013 graduate of King Philip Regional High School where he earned a total of 12 varsity letters (football, basketball, baseball, track) … Hockomock League all-star … basketball team captain as a senior, helping Norfolk to the south sectional finals … was a team captain in the Shriners’ All-Star Game, which was played at Bentley … involved in Economics-Finance Club as a blog writer, and Bentley Service Learning … age as of Sept. 1: 21 … son of Frank and Robin McDonald … has one brother, Ry (24), and one sister, Maggie (23).
