Tragically, Joe passed away while playing in a summer league game on June 3, 2013 at the age of 19.

Averaged 16.7 minutes, 3.3 points and 3.2 rebounds while appearing in 26 games … started 16 times, including nine straight from Nov. 17-Jan. 9 and the season’s final five contests … shot .446 from the field and .628 from the foul line … began his career with nine points and six rebounds off the bench Nov. 9 against Caldwell … gave the Falcons eight points Feb. 10 at Saint Anselm and seven at UMass-Lowell Nov. 14 … had at least five rebounds seven times, with a high of eight Dec. 1 at Southern New Hampshire.
Before Bentley
2012 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School who was a two-time Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic … two-year captain in basketball and Spellman’s football captain as a senior … as a junior, averaged over 20 points and 10 rebounds while leading Cardinal Spellman to the Division III South sectional title … as a senior, also averaged a double-double (18.5 points, 12 rebounds, three steals, 2.2 blocks) for the Cardinals, who lost in the Division 3 South Semifinals … reached the 1,000-point plateau in December 2011 and finished career with 1,425 points, along with 803 rebounds … selected as “Best of the Rest” by ESPNBoston … lost in Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium in both 2010 and 2011 … also lettered in baseball … played AAU for the Middlesex Magic.
