WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University opened its 2010-11
Northeast-10 schedule in fine form with a 9-0 sweep of Assumption
Thursday afternoon in women's tennis play.
The Falcons dominated, especially in the singles matches, where
they dropped just eight games combined in the six matches. Junior
Brittany Harbert (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet) and
senior Aimee Tetu (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick)
posted love wins in fifth and sixth singles respectively. Sophomore
Paulina Sotomayor (San Antonio, Texas/Ronald
Reagan) played in the number one position and posted a
6-0, 6-3 win over Grace Fox.
In doubles, Sotomayor and sophomore Rachel Litton
(Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) played in the top position
and beat Fox and Paige Gilet 8-1, as the Falcons won all three
doubles matches.
Bentley is back in action on Sunday at home against Saint
Rose.
