WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University posted its second
straight win to start the season, 8-1 over Saint Rose in
Northeast-10 women's tennis Sunday afternoon.
The Falcons swept doubles play for the second straight match.
Sophomores Paulina
Sotomayor (San Antonio, Texas/Ronald Reagan) and
Rachel
Litton (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) beat Missy
Leighton and Erin Reeg in first doubles 8-4. Senior Aimee
Tetu (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) and junior
Kara Murphy (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) defeated
Jennifer Crego and Kimberly Schacher 8-3 in second doubles, and
senior Cheryl Martin (Pittsfield, Mass./St. Joseph
Central) and junior Brittany Harbert (Boxford,
Mass./Masconomet) topped Stephanie Belz and Valeria
Bianchi in third doubles 8-0.
Murphy, Litton, Martin, Harbert and sophomore Katie Van Gilst (Harwinton, Conn./Lewis S. Mills) all won their
singles matches for Bentley.
The Falcons, now 2-0 on the year, play next at Pace on Oct.
