DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Bentley University women's swimming team won its third dual meet of the year and 14th in a row overall by beating UMass-Dartmouth 163-67 Wednesday night. Eight different swimmers won individual races for the Falcons, and they also won both relay and diving events.
Junior Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) was one of the winners for Bentley, winning the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:30.78. Senior Molly Murphy (Horseheads, N.Y./Watkins Glen HS) took the 200 butterfly by five seconds in 2:33.11 and sophomore Amanda Le (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) won the 200 individual medley in 2:16.22. Sophomore Caroline Lewis (Westfield/Westfield HS) was victorious in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:19.30.
In the distance races, freshman Nadine Edwards (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) won the 1000 freestyle in 11:12.63 and senior Susie Boretti (Westford/Westford Academy) won the 500 free in 5:32.58. In the sprints, sophomore Amy Shin (Lancaster/Nashoba Reg. HS) took the 50 free in 26.84 and freshman Danielle Hellstern (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug HS) won the 100 free in 56.34.
Freshman Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn./Holy Cross HS) was victorious in both diving events, with a score of 218.15 in the one meter and 213.05 in the three meter.
Bentley's next meet is at home against Saint Michael's Nov. 19.
