WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior All-America Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) won two individual events and participated on a winning relay as the Bentley University women's swimming team extended its dual winning streak to 15 with a 114-86 win over St. Michael's College Saturday night at the Dana Center.
Bentley, which gained the maximum points in five events, vaulted out to an 85-27 lead en route to its fourth win of the season.
Hodsdon was the first to the wall in both the 100 yard butterfly and the 100 breaststroke, finishing with times of 1:00.18 and 1:08.72, respectively. Earlier in the meet, she partnered with sophomores Amy Shin (Lancaster/Nashoba Reg. HS), Kellen Power (San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS) and Amanda Le (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) for a winning performance of 1:53.90 in the 200 medley relay.
Also winning swimming events for the Falcons were Le in the 400 individual medley (4:48.77), senior Susie Boretti (Westford/Westford Academy) in the 1000 freestyle (11:25.98), freshman Danielle Hellstern (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug HS) in the 50 free (26.45), and freshman Nadine Edwards (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) in the 500 free (5:25.69). Edwards and Boretti were also part of the Falcons' winning 200 free relay team.
In addition, freshman Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn./Holy Cross HS) competed without opposition and without figuring in the team scoring. She posted scores of 227.90 on the three-meter board and 216.64 on the one-meter.
Bentley's next action is the Northeast-10 Invitational at the Dana Center on Dec. 4.
