Robinson, Witherell Lead Bentley Men at 44th Annual Codfish Bowl

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Craig Robinson (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough HS) and senior Tom Witherell (Los Alamos, N.M./Los Alamos HS) were the top finishers for the Bentley University men's cross country team during the 44th annual Codfish Bowl at Franklin Park Saturday.

Robinson was 30th overall, and 11th among Division II competitors, with a time of 27:01 for 8,000 meters. Witherell crossed the line eight seconds later, placing 37th. Bentley's number three man was senior Gabe Campbell (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury HS), who covered the course in 27:59 to place 68th.

Bentley, with a score of 234, placed eighth out of 26 teams, and was third among Division II squads, trailing Stonehill College and Adelphi University.

Bates College captured the team championship, finishing 30 points in front of Boston University with a score of 47. Rich Peters of BU took individual honors by 19 seconds, breaking the tape in 25:11.

Bentley's next race is also at Franklin Park, the New England Championships on Oct. 8.
