Babson Outswims Bentley Men, 140-83

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Babson College men's swimming and diving team won its third straight dual meet and improved to 6-3 with a 140-83 victory over the Bentley University men's team Wednesday night at the Dana Center pool.

Eighteen of Bentley's points came from freshman Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS), who competed without opposition in both diving events. He finished with scores of 260.02 off the one-meter board and 236.47 from the three-meter.

Bentley's lone win in a swimming event came from freshman Tim Connolly (Dorchester/Boston Latin Academy) in the 100 yard backstroke. He won with a time of 56.76, beating out Gregg Bissett of Babson who posted a 57.52.

Bentley recorded second-place finishes in each of the relay events with freshman Sebastian Bury (Bellevue, Wash. /Newport Senior HS) responsible for two, with times of 49.85 seconds in the 100 and 1:51.83 in the 200. Bury was beaten to the wall in the 100 by Babson's Isaac Breen-Franklin in the closest race of the meet, Breen-Franklin prevailing by 0.13 seconds.

The other seconds were registered by freshman Kevin Diefenbach (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert HS) in the 1,000 (10:45.84), senior Mike Simoneau (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South HS) in the 50 (23.17) and senior Tyler Champagne (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional HS) in the 500 (5:05.46).

The Falcons, now 6-2 on the season, face Keene State in another home meet on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
