Bridge & Wilde Represent Bentley in NCAA Div. II Pre-Qualification Meet

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Bentley University divers Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS) and Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn./Holy Cross HS) came up short during Tuesday's NCAA Division II Pre-Qualification Meet at the Indiana University Natatorium in their bid to advance to the NCAA Division II Championships.

Wilde, a senior competing in her final career meet, finished 19th of 32 from the one-meter board, scoring a 202.15, and was 26th of 30 off the three-meter (210.00). Bridge was 27th of 29 in the three-meter competition, posting a 211.60, and 28th of 29 in the one-meter (188.40).

The sixth dive in both events was the best for Wilde, the Northeast-10 Conference champion off both boards. She had the eighth best sixth-round dive off the one meter, scoring a 41.40 on a back one somersault one-and-a-half twist free. From the three-meter, her final dive, a back one-and-a-half somersault one-and-a-half twist free, produced a 40.80, 14th best.

Bridge, a junior, had two 40-point dives from the three-meter. He opened with a 42.00, 22nd best, on a forward two-and-a-half somersault pike, and later recorded a 43.20 on an inward two-and-a-half somersault tuck. That was the 19th best score during the fifth round.  From the one-meter board, his best score was a 39.60 on a forward one-and-a-half somersault one twist free.
