Bishop, Lestik Top Finishers for Bentley Men's Cross Country at Corsair Classic

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Freshman Baxter Bishop (Waterbury Center, Vt./Champlain Valley Union HS) and sophomore Christian Lestik (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown HS) were the top finishers for the Bentley University men's cross country team during the UMass-Dartmouth Corsair Classic Saturday afternoon.

Bishop, who is coming off a gap year, finished 111th among 257 runners with a five-mile time of 28:25.99. It was his first cross country race in nearly two years.

Lestik was the next Falcon across the finish line, placing 143rd in 29:03.06.

Bentley, which was resting most of its top runners, finished 30th among 36 teams with a score of 805. WPI took team honors, besting UMass-Lowell, 61-83.

The individual champion was Trinity's Weyessa McAllister with a time of 24:46.42.

Next Saturday, Bentley will compete in the Capital Cross Challenge in Sacramento, Calif.
