BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – With ten different Falcons capturing individual events, the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team outscored Bridgewater State University, 193-47, at the BSU Moriarty Pool Wednesday night to complete a second straight undefeated dual season.
Bentley, which will now prep for the Northeast-10 Championships Feb. 6-9, improved to 10-0 and extended its dual winning streak to 31, dating back to October 2017.
Freshman diver Mary Huminski (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) was the only Falcon with multiple individual wins as she swept diving with scores of 229.15 from the one-meter board and 234.50 from the three.
Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) was involved in three Bentley wins as she captured the 50 yard freestyle in 25.58 and was part of both Falcon relay teams. She teamed with junior Rachel Hill (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington HS) and a pair of seniors, Paige MacNeil (Branford, Conn./Branford HS) and Ariana Revelas (Snyder, N.Y./Nardin Academy), for a winning time of 2:00.76 in the 200 medley. The meet concluded with Gonzales, freshman Jessica Chen (Darien, Conn./Darien HS), junior Julia Ball (Phoenix, Md./Roland Park Country School) and senior Lea Guldemond (West Newbury/Central Catholic HS) taking first in the 200 free with a 1:45.84.
In addition to Gonzales, freestyle winners for the Falcons were Guldemond in the 100 (57.33), sophomore Emily Sweet (Nashua, N.H./Nashua HS) in the 200 (2:00.99), Revelas in the 500 (5:30.07) and junior Kayla Metivier (Kingston, N.H./Sanborn Reg. HS) in the 1000 (11:27.56).
The other first-place finishes for the Falcons were achieved by Ball in the 200 individual medley (2:22.31), sophomore Lucy Slowe (Millis/Millis HS) in the 100 butterfly (1:01.82), senior Alyssa Blum (Plainview, N.Y./Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK HS) in the 100 backstroke (1:07.24) and junior Emily LaRovere (Lynnfield/Phillips Exeter Acad.) in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.68).
