Huminski, Logozzo Finish 1-2 in 3-Meter Diving at NE10 Championships; Bentley in 3rd Place after Day 2

WORCESTER, Mass. – Bentley University sophomore Mary Huminski (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) captured gold in the three-meter diving and Falcon senior Caroline Logozzo (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield HS) followed her in second as day two of the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships was held Friday night at WPI's Sports and Recreation Center.

Huminski's winning score was 387.65 and Logozzo trailed her by 22.85 seconds. Junior Ryann Driscoll (Marblehead/Marblehead HS) was the third Falcon in the top five as she posted a 330.25.

Two school records were broken, in the 50 yard freestyle and the 200 free relay with freshman Kathryn Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS) involved in both. She took third in the 50 free with her 24.13 clocking in the finals identical to her time in the prelims. In the same pool back in December, she gained possession of the record with a swim of 24.33 seconds.

Galvin also swam the closing leg on Bentley's bronze medal-winning 200 free relay that finished in 1:37.05, two-tenths of a second faster than the record set a year ago. Sophomore Lucy Slowe (Millis/ Millis HS), junior Emily LaRovere (Lynnfield/Phillips Exeter Acad.) and freshman Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) preceded her into the pool.

Bentley was also third in the 400 medley relay with Slowe, senior Ariana Revelas (Snyder, N.Y./ Nardin Academy), Galvin and Gonzales teaming for a 3:56.90.

Slowe finished fifth in the 500 free (5:06.95) and Gonzales took sixth in the 200 individual medley (2:10.57).

In the team standings, Bentley stands in third, trailing Southern Connecticut State and Assumption College. Only 53 points separate the top three with the Owls leading with 358, the Greyhounds following with 329 and the Falcons finishing the second day with 305.

Saturday's action begins with prelims at 10:15 am and the finals will be at 6 pm.
