Capobianco Leads Bentley Men at Franklin Park

BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Sam Capobianco (North Reading/Phillips Andover) was the top finisher for the Bentley University men's cross country team during the Suffolk Short Course Invitational at Franklin Park Friday afternoon.

Capobianco covered the 5,000-meter course in 17:05, placing 19th among 102 competitors. Twelve of the 18 runners in front of him ran for Brown or Harvard.

Next across the line for the Falcons were junior Brice Tolan (Abington/Abington HS) in 34th (17:58) and senior Derek Pittorino (Westborough/Westborough HS) in 36th (18:03).

Brown easily captured first in the team standings with a score of 19. Harvard was second (61) and Suffolk third (70). Bentley was sixth of ten with a score of 156.

Next Saturday, Bentley will compete in Saint Anselm's Shacklette Invitational.
