Tolan & Lawes Lead Bentley Men During Beacon Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Brice Tolan (Abington/Abington HS) and sophomore Alex Lawes (Brick, N.J./Brick Township HS) turned in the highest finishes for the Bentley University men's track and field team which opened its indoor season Saturday during the Beacon Invitational at the Track at New Balance.

Coming off a strong cross country season, Tolan ran to a sixth-place finish, among 48 runners, in the mile, reaching the line inf 4:20.43. That improved on his indoor personal best by 5.54 seconds.

Lawes was seventh among 15 runners in the 500 meters, finishing in 1:08.72.

In the 800, freshman Ryan Orr (Stonington, Conn./Stonington HS) was 12th of 24 in his indoor debut after running the distance in 1:54.56. That was the best in the Northeast-10 so far this season.

Also on the NE10 list, junior Cole Duval (Tolland, Mass./Mount Everett HS) ran the second fastest 5,000-meter race to date, 16:18.42.

It'll be five weeks before the Falcons compete again, in the Reggie Poyau at Brandeis University Jan. 14.
