WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Rona Mejiritski (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green HS) closed out her home career by winning two events for the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team during a 128-82 win over Bridgewater State Tuesday night at the Dana Center.
Bentley won all 13 events with Mejiritski's victories coming in the 200 yard butterfly (2:16.30) and the 500 freestyle (5:26.13).
The other double winners for the Falcons were junior Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS), in the 200 free (1:59.19) and the 200 back (2:11.84), and freshman Jordan Nuzback (Fairview, Pa./McDowell HS), in the 200 individual medley (2:15.74) and the 100 free (55.85). Each was also part of a winning relay, the 200 medley for Gonzales and the 200 free for Nuzback.
The other winning performances for Bentley swimmers were achieved by sophomore Emma Hapkiewicz (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) in the 1000 free (10:57.28), junior Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS) in the 50 free (24.97) and junior Jennifer Chen (Darien, Conn./Darien HS) in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.18).
In the diving events, junior Mary Huminski (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) prevailed off the one-meter, with a 277.95, and freshman Hilla Almog (Wayland/Wayland HS) took first from the three-meter, with a 251.17.
Bentley, 6-1, will compete in its final meet before the Feb. 17-20 Northeast-10 Conference Championships Friday at St. Michael's College.
