Murphy reaches 1,000 career kills; Falcons sweep Owls

WALTHAM, Mass. – Ingrid Murphy reached her 1,000th career kill as the Bentley volleyball team beat Southern Connecticut in three sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-17) at home Friday night. Murphy is the ninth Falcon in school history with 1,000 career kills.

The Falcons clinched their 13th consecutive win, including their sixth consecutive 3-0 triumph.

Murphy didn't have a kill in the first set against the Owls, but she ended up with a match-high nine kills. The milestone happened early in the third set.

Elizabeth Blinn finished the match with eight kills and three blocks, while Caitlin Wunder put away seven kills. Natalie Thom totaled 21 assists.

Bentley hosts American International for a pivotal Northeast-10 contest Saturday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m.
