Hapkiewicz a Triple Winner for Women's Swimming in Season Opener

NORTON, Mass. – Senior Emma Hapkiewicz picked up where she left off from last season and won three freestyle races in the season opening meet for women's swimming and diving. The Falcons, however, dropped the meet to Wheaton 168-126.

The Swimmer of the Meet at the NE10 Championships last season who also qualified for the NCAA Championships, Hapkiewicz won the 200, 500 and 1000 freestyle races. She won the 1000 free in 10:58.91 to win the race by almost 22 seconds.

Diver Hilla Almog, an NCAA qualifier last season, won the 1-meter dive with a score of 274.80.

Freshman Skyla Lang started her career impressively by winning both the 200 breaststroke and 200 IM races. She won the 200 IM in 2:12.34, more than six seconds ahead of the next closest swimmer.

Caroline Ubert was victorious in the 200 fly with a time of 2:17.24.

Bentley will now prepare for its next meet, at home against Saint Rose on Oct. 29.
