Dennehy's Second Place Finish Leads Bentley at Panther Invitational

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – A second-place in the 200 meters by junior Ryan Dennehy (Andover, Mass./Andover HS) was the highest finish for the Bentley University men's indoor track and field team during the Panther Invitational II at Plymouth State University Saturday.

Dennehy's clocking of 24.07 seconds put him 0.14 back of winner Jyaire Hatcher of the host team. He also finished eighth among 30 sprinters in the 60 (7.45).

Bentley had three of the top six in the mile with freshman Max Lampe (North Haven, Conn,/North Haven HS) fourth in 4:42.35, junior Finn Power (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme HS) fifth in a new personal best time of 4:42.92, and junior Cole Duval (Tolland, Mass./Mount Everett HS) sixth in 4:44.61.

Freshman Casey O'Connor (North Reading/North Reading HS) was sixth in the shot put (36'9.75") and set a PR in the weight throw, bettering his previous best by more than a foot with a distance of 35 feet, 4 inches. Also in the shot, senior Jason Caplan (Westport, Conn./Staples HS) was seventh among 17 (36'3").

Next Saturday, in its final meet before the Northeast-10 Championships, Bentley will compete in the Dave Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University
