INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – In her first of three events this week during the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium, Bentley University junior Emma Hapkiewicz (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) swam the 1000 yard freestyle in 10:19.77 Wednesday morning.
Her performance put her in 26th place overall, in a field of 34. She finished strong, breaking 31 seconds in each of her final four splits, including a 29.69 to close. That was her second fastest 50 of the race, trailing only her 28.39 start.
Hapkiewicz will compete in the 500 on Friday and the 1650 on Saturday.
