Bentley Falls to Stonehill in Non-Conference Match

EASTON, Mass. – Former NE10 rivals Bentley and Stonehill met in a non-conference match on Sunday, and it was the host Skyhawks that came away with a 7-0 victory.

The Skyhawks, now competing in the Division I Northeast Conference, improved to 5-7 on the season.

Bentley's Zoe Chin battled in the No. 3 match against Anne Beltran that went three sets. Chin won the first set, 6-3. But Beltran evened the match with a 6-1 score in the second set. The third set tiebreaker went Beltran's way, 10-7.

The singles lineup for Bentley had Makena Romagnano (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) in No. 1, Anna Lang (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) in No. 2, Chin in No. 3, Chloe Arsenault (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) in No. 4 and Rachel Holden (Pomfret, Conn./Woodstock) in No. 5.

The doubles pairings had Romagnano and Lang in No. 1 and Chin and Arsenault in No. 2.

Bentley will continue its spring season on Friday when they take on another Division I team, this time Holy Cross, at 3:30 PM.
