Levine Scores with Three Seconds Left to Give Bentley Dramatic 1-0 Victory over AIC

Waltham, Mass. – Evan Levine scored the most dramatic goal possible with just over three seconds left on the clock to give Bentley a 1-0 victory over AIC on Wednesday.

Helping to set the goal up, Chad Meyers sent in a cross on the right edge of the penalty area to the six-yard box where Parker Higgins got a touch on it. Levine was there to jump on the loose ball and smash a shot into the lower right corner for the goal and to set off a wild celebration for the Falcons on the sideline.

The win maintained Bentley's perfect record at home and they are now 6-0 in Waltham. They improved to 7-3-2 overall and 4-2 in conference.

After getting off to a slow start in the first half, Bentley sprung to life in the second half.

They outshot AIC 9-7 in the second half and 4-2 in shots on target. Before Levine's goal, Johann Fraser had the best scoring opportunity in the 65th minute with a shot from 15 yards but was denied by AIC keeper Lucas Morales-Fernandez.

AIC then nearly seized the lead in the 72nd minute but was denied by both Falcons keeper Cam Hall and Luke Hanchar.

Hall first denied a shot from 10 yards by Pietro Botasso from a tight angle. The rebound fell to Lois Matton Manhoutte and his shot from 20 yards was denied by Hall with a diving save.

The rebound from that shot fell to Christian Torres, whose close-range attempt was crucially blocked by Luke Hanchar on the near post.

That setup the final 18 minutes as both teams attempted to find the winner, until Levine found it with just three seconds left with his sixth goal of the year.
