Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Bentley makes it 10 straight wins with 3-0 triumph at SNHU

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Caitlin Wunder led all players with 10 kills, and Elizabeth Blinn came away with a match-high nine blocks as the Bentley volleyball team pushed its winning streak to 10 matches with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-22) Northeast-10 win at Southern New Hampshire Friday evening.

Freshman Tory Vitko tallied 20 assists in the winning effort, marking her sixth match reaching at least 20 assists this season.

For Wunder, she achieved double-digit kills for the sixth time this fall. Friday's match also marked Blinn's seventh time with five or more blocks in 2024.

Bentley set the tone early by taking a 7-2 lead in the first set. The Falcons didn't lead by double digits until Vitko ended the frame with an ace, 25-15.

Once again in the second set, Bentley claimed a 7-2 lead. However, the Penmen fought back to get to within a point, 17-16. Consecutive kills by Rachel Vitko slowed SNHU's momentum, and the Falcons claimed the second set when the Penmen committed back-to-back errors.

SNHU kept pace with Bentley early in the third set, but a kill by Blinn was the start of three consecutive points that gave Bentley a bit of a buffer, 11-7. Another Blinn kill initiated another quick 3-0 run that pushed the lead to 15-10.

Bentley held a 17-14 lead when the Penmen went on a 4-0 run to take the lead, 18-17. That lead didn't last long, as a kill by Sophia Poehlein evened up the score. A couple of SNHU errors and an ace by Jazzy Burke allowed the Falcons to reclaim the lead, 21-18.

Tory Vitko ended the contest with an ace.

The Falcons take a break in NE10 action when they host Bridgeport Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m.
