WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley volleyball team celebrated its senior class in convincing fashion, beating Saint Michael's in three sets (25-15, 25-10, 25-24) Friday night in the Dana Center.
Prior to the start of the match, the Falcons celebrated four seniors:
Jazzy Burke,
Ali Stuessi,
Natalie Thom,
Rachel Vitko.
The regular-season finale was Bentley's 12
th sweep of the season. With a 20-5 overall record and an 8-2 mark in the Northeast-10, Bentley will host a first-round Northeast-10 Championship match Tuesday, Nov. 19 (more detail to follow).
Vitko totaled 15 kills in the win over the Purple Knights, matching her season-high for the season. She achieved the mark twice before against American International (Oct. 29) and Lewis (Sept. 21).
Thom finished with 14 assists, and
Tory Vitko had 20. Burke led the Falcons in digs with 13.
As a team, the Falcons totaled 15 service aces – matching their high for the season. Thom had a match-high seven aces, and
Rachel Vitko added four – including the final two points of the match.
Bentley earlier this season had 15-ace efforts against Assumption (Oct. 22), Saint Anselm (Oct. 11), and Franklin Pierce (Sept. 27).
