Bentley's defense stifles Pace in 3-0 victory

WALTHAM, Mass. – One of the Northeast-10's most efficient attacking teams was stifled by Bentley when the Falcons rolled Pace to a 3-0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-18) win in the Dana Center Saturday afternoon.

The Setters entered the contest with a .224 attack percentage, which ranked top three in the NE10. However, Bentley's defense ranked 10th in the nation for opponent attack percentage, and the Falcons improved that mark following Saturday's dominance.

Bentley held the Setters to a -0.57 attack percentage, a season-best for the Bentley defense. Elizabeth Blinn came away with seven blocks, and Caitlin Wunder added four. Jazzy Burke was the only Falcon with double-digit digs (11).

Wunder led all players in kills with 11, and Tory Vitko finished with 33 assists. It was Wunder's 12th match this season with double-digit kills, and Vitko's sixth consecutive match with at least 30 assists.

With an 18-5 overall record, Bentley is on the cusp of its third consecutive season with at least 20 wins.

The Falcons next compete at New Haven, Nov. 9.
