WALTHAM, Mass. – A 30-6 first-half run over a span of just over 12 minutes resulted in a commanding 35-10 lead and the Bentley University women's basketball team went on to best Post University, 84-46, in non-conference action Saturday afternoon on Barbara Stevens Court.
Bentley, ranked number three in the WBCA Division II coaches poll prior to Wednesday's loss to Adelphi University, matched its season-high scoring output and improved to 5-1 overall. Post remained winless five games into the season.

Brooke Obar (North Yarmouth, Maine/Greely HS) tallied 11.
The fast start for the Falcons began with graduate guard
Maggie Whitmore (South Portland, Maine/South Portland HS) starting a run of 10 straight by draining a straight-ahead three. She also had a pair of lay-ups as Bentley made its first six shots.
The 10-0 run grew to 24-4 by the end of the quarter and the Falcon lead at the break was 29-8. Seven different players scored in the opening stanza, with Whitmore leading the way with seven, and Yeomans picked up six of her assists.

The Falcons, up 48-21 at the half and 66-37, saw the differential hit a game-high 41, 84-43, on a three-pointer by sophomore
Niya Morgen (Swampscott/St. Mary's HS) with just over a minute to play.
In addition to the three players in double figures, Bentley received nine points from Whitmore, eight apiece from Morgen and junior forward
Ciara Norman (Roebling, N.J./Life Center Academy), and seven from both Elie and sophomore
Norah Saluja (Rocky Hill, Conn./Choate Rosemary).
Bentley outshot the Eagles 51-33 percent, had an 8-5 edge in three-pointers, delivered three times as many assists (24-8) and dominated the boards (44-26). The specialty stats were all Falcons, including 22-8 in points off turnovers, 46-22 in the paint, 18-5 second chance and 37-17 in bench points.
Bentley will continue a five-game homestand and return to Northeast-10 action Tuesday against American International (5:30 pm).
