WORCESTER, Mass. – Emma Hapkiewicz won gold in the 500 freestyle and Hilla Almog took first in the 1-meter diving event for Bentley on day two of the Northeast 10 Women's Swimming and Diving Championship.
Jordan Nuzback claimed silver in the 200 IM. The 200 free relay and 400 medley relay teams took home silver as well. The 200 free relay team was comprised of Skyla Lang, Cleo Zhou, Grace Motisi and Bella Montanari.
The 400 medley relay team featured Nuzback, Emily Blatt, Caroline Ubert and Hapkiewicz.
Hapkiewicz's time in the 500 free of 5:02.90 is an NCAA B-cut time and was almost three seconds better than silver medalist Lindsay McCawley of Southern Connecticut. It was her best time of the season and just two seconds off her school record time, which won her the 500 free at the NE10s last season.
Almog's dominant season continued with gold in the 1-meter dive. Her score of 429.45 easily bested silver medalist Isabella Reyes of Pace by more than 36 points. Falcons freshman Rishika Moorthy finished in seventh in this event with a score of 221.15 at her first NE10 meet.
Nuzback took silver in the 200 IM and the race could not have been any closer. Her time of 2:07.34 was just barely bettered by Southern Connecticut's Brooke Keeney at 2:06.91.
The 200 free relay team won silver at 1:38.16, just under three seconds behind SCSU's time. Lang swam the leadoff leg in 25.15, followed Zhou in the second leg, Motisi in the third leg and Montanari the anchor.
The 400 medley relay team posted a time of 3:58.38 to win silver in that event. Nuzback swam the leadoff backstroke leg, Blatt the second breaststroke leg, Ubert the third butterfly leg and Hapkiewicz the final freestyle leg.
The 500 free saw both Taylor White and Madison Capria qualify for the finals. Both swam season bests and White placed 8th and Capria 12th.
Lang was 4th in the 200 IM and just missed medaling by .56 seconds at 2:08.04, which was her best time as a Falcon. Caroline Ubert and Lily Rice also qualified for the finals.
The 50 free finals were contested on Friday night and Montanari took 5th. She just missed the podium by .12 seconds. Her time of 24.64 was a career best. Zhou qualified for the finals and was 13th.
The Falcons finished Friday in second place with 322 points. Southern Connecticut leads the way with 382 points.
