Waltham, Mass. –
Evan Levine and
Johann Fraser scored inside the opening five minutes as Bentley defeated Assumption 2-0 on Saturday morning.
The Falcons remained unbeaten on the season at 4-0-2 overall, and they are off to a 2-0 start in NE10 matches.
The goals by Levine and Fraser came just 34 seconds apart.
For the first goal, Fraser made a run down the left wing and threaded a through ball to Levine who roofed his shot into the top of the net from six yards out. The goal was Levine's fourth of the season and Fraser's seventh assist of the year.
Almost immediately after the ensuing kickoff, Fraser scored to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead.
Chad Meyers fed a pass to Fraser from midfield, and the Cambridge, Mass, native did the rest as he dribbled around the Assumption keeper and finished with a low shot from 12 yards for the goal.
From there Bentley's defense shutdown the Greyhounds attack to keep a clean sheet.
Goalkeeper
Cam Hall made eight saves to earn the win.
Bentley will next play at New Haven on Friday, Oct. 4.
