WALTHAM, Mass. – Six different Falcons reached the end zone as the Bentley football team won its fourth consecutive game with a 42-13 triumph over Pace on Yetten Field Saturday afternoon.
Bentley (4-3, 4-1 NE10) held a 14-0 lead at halftime, but it erupted for 28 points in the second half. The Falcons are averaging 44 points per game during their current winning streak, while the defense is limiting opponents to just 17 points per game during that stretch.
Senior running back
Joshua Compoh had a season-high 86 rushing yards on 12 carries. He ran for a 32-yard touchdown to give the Falcons a 21-3 lead in the third quarter, but it wasn't Bentley's longest scoring play of the game.
The Falcons needed just four plays in their first possession of the game to reach the end zone. Sophomore quarterback
Luke Warnock connected with graduate wideout
Rashon Bradford – who was streaking wide open down the middle of the field – for a 40-yard touchdown that gave Bentley a 7-0 lead.
In the second quarter, Warnock found a wide open
Pat Damon for a 20-yard touchdown that doubled Bentley's lead to 14-0. Warnock hit
Isaiah Decias for a 10-yard score in the fourth quarter. A little over five minutes later,
Isaiah Osgood ran for a 10-yard touchdown – his third of the season.
Bentley also scored on a defense thanks to a pick-six by junior defensive back
David Brown Jr.
Bradford totaled 114 receiving yards on only four catches. He matched his season-high for receiving yards, having previously put up 114 against Franklin Pierce (Sept. 20). Decias totaled 59 receiving yards against Pace, marking his fourth consecutive game with 50+ receiving yards. He missed the first three games of the season due to an injury. He and Damon are tied for the team lead in touchdown catches (4) this season.
Brown wasn't the only Falcon making noise on defense. Sophomore defensive back
Christian Zamor had two sacks and an interception.
Meanwhile, senior linebacker
Henry Schouten totaled 13 tackles, pushing his season average to 11.3 tackles per game.
Bentley next has a big conference game at Saint Anselm, Nov. 1. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
