The Falcons (13-8) are the #8 seed in the tournament and are ranked 10th nationally by the NFHCA this week. Newberry (18-0) is the #1 overall seed in the tournament and ranked second in the NFHCA poll.

Bentley's postseason run so far saw them defeat Southern New Hampshire 4-2 in the NE10 quarterfinals and Assumption 3-1 in the semifinals, before they suffered a tough 3-2 defeat to Saint Anselm in double overtime in the NE10 finals.

At the other end, Newberry is making its first ever NCAA appearance. They swept through the regular season at 16-0, then won the first ever South Atlantic Conference playoff championship by beating Wingate and Lander.

Saturday's winner advances to the final four against either #4 East Stroudsburg or #5 West Chester.
