Four Falcons score in double figures during NE10 win at SNHU

WALTHAM, Mass. – Four Falcons scored in double figures as th Bentley men's basketball team opened its Northeast 10 schedule with a 72-60 win at Southern N.H. Wednesday night.

Cooper Farrall had a team-high 18 points, and he came up one rebound shy of his fourth double-double of the season. Chase Clarke finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Jordan Elliott and Mantas Zilys both scored 10 points.

Bentley (4-2, 1-0 NE10) shot 42.1-percent (8-for-19) from 3-point range, marking its third game this season shooting at least 40-percent from distance.

The Falcon defense held SNHU to 33.3-percent shooting from the floor – the lowest mark by a Bentley opponent this season.

Bentley set the tone early, and it never trailed all game. The Falcons ran out to a 10-0 within the game's first four minutes. Elliott and Farrall both scored in the paint during the run, and each of the two hit a 3-pointer.

The Falcons' first-half lead got as high as 11 points, 31-20, when Zilys knocked down a pair of free-throws. The advantage at halftime was 34-28, and SNHU wasn't going away quietly.

The Penmen cut their deficit to just one point, 40-39, with 14:18 on the clock in the second half. Farrall quickly responded by scoring in the paint. After SNHU turned the ball over, Joe Carroll hit a 3-pointer to build the cushion back up to 45-39.  

Bentley added a couple more defensive stops, and Ivan Misic drilled a three-pointer to push the Bentley lead up to 48-39.

Bentley's lead reached double digits again, 56-46, when Clarke converted on an and-one opportunity with a little less than 10 minutes left in regulation.

The Falcons make their home debut Saturday, Dec. 6, when they host Saint Michael's for a conference game at 2 p.m.
